All About Me
I was born in Welland, Ontario and currently live in Dunnville, Ontario along the shores of Lake Erie with my best pal, sidekick, and mascot Penny; my beloved corgi. I sell original art work, art tote bags, and art cards. When I started my artistic journey, I wished to do high realism but as I grew as an artist my style evolved into impressionism.
I am primarily self-taught and work equally in all mediums building layer upon layer of transparent colour to create beauty and depth in my work. I specialize in still life, landscapes, and portraits using oils, acrylic, watercolours, and pastels. My painting journey has been a path of trial and error, but every piece is an informative teaching experience.
A lot of my work reflects the Kawarthas and Muskoka area. Central Ontario and its dense forest, quaint towns and overall stunning scenery has always held my heart. These landscapes solidified my love for water, trees, and rocks and my love of interpreting them in different, creative ways.
I’ve been painting and teaching classes for over 40 years and I love every second of it. I love sharing the passion of painting and enjoy facilitating that joy in others. I find it a true blessing that I am able to do what I love. Currently, I enjoy painting in my home studio with plenty of windows surrounding my easel that supply all the natural light that is the best for creating art.
